Lamborghini has done it again and set a blistering lap record around the famed Nürburgring Nordschliefe with a time of six minutes and forty-four seconds with the upcoming SVJ version of the Aventador supercar. This bests the previous record holder, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, by more than a full two seconds. That Porsche recently bested Lamborghini’s own Huracan Performante’s record by a second.

Borrowing a page from the company’s most recent ‘ring record holder, the Huracan Performante, the SJV uses innovative active vectoring aerodynamics among other ultra high performance strategies.

The SVJ will debut at Monterey Car Week in California next month and will undoubtedly be a blockbuster. Until then, enjoy this in car view of Marco Mapelli’s record lap.
