What’s not to like about a three row SUV with a 392 cubic inch HEMI that does the quarter in 12.9 seconds?
Indeed. We’ve long been fans of Dodge’s attractive and capable Durango and for 2018, SRT engineers have finally had their way with this excellent three-row SUV, which debuts this week at the Chicago Auto Show.
The heart of the Durango SRT is that same great 475-horsepower, 470 lb-ft, 6.4-litre HEMI that’s found across the SRT line. There’s also an eight speed transmission, Bilstein adaptive dampers, massive 350mm brakes from Brembo, and legendary engineering from the SRT team.
Naturally, the exterior looks suitably muscular and sits properly lowered on those massive 20-inch wheels. This is what kids call “stance”, we think.
With a zero to sixty time of 4.4 seconds, this three row Durango hauls the mail, the groceries, and a gaggle of rug rats. And it’ll tow 8,600 pounds.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but expect a starting price in the low seventies. Look for the 2019 Dodge Durango SRT later this year and we suggest ordering one today to avoid disappointment.
