The excitement that is the North American Auto Show is behind us, but the most important takeaway for those of us who love cars is that there were a number of interesting machines shown in Detroit.

Nissan’s Raptor-killer Rogue Warrior looks far more aggressive than any F-150 and wouldn’t you prefer a diesel in your hard-core off-roader? I know I would. Let’s hope that Nissan puts this into production.

Infiniti’s all new Q60 replaces the outgoing, G37-based coupe. The big news is that it’s available with a 3.0-litre, twin turbo V6 that makes 400 horsepower. Now it’s got the power to go along with it’s stunning looks. Yes, there are two other engines with lesser outputs available, but we really like the idea of 400 horsepower. This Infiniti goes on sale later this year and will sell like proverbial hot cakes.

The Lexus LC500 is the first Lexus that actually looks correct with the company’s modern fascia styling language. We’re glad to see this one come to market because the world needs more bold coupes.

BMW’s M2 is perhaps the world’s most hotly anticipated enthusiast car for 2016. By the specs, it promises to be awesome and we can’t wait to drive it.

The formidable Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S have only gotten better. If they were near perfect before the refresh, what will more performance and revised interiors with more usability do for the Turbo models? Could they finally be perfect? We’ll find out when we test them.

With the Geneva and New York motor shows coming up in the next few weeks, they’ll be even more cool cars for drivers like us. Stay tuned.
