We already know that the 650S Spyder is a thrilling drive, given its carbon fibre chassis, remarkable suspension, cutting edge drivetrain, and the integrity of design. It all melds to make this McLaren a truly unique supercar experience.
Capable of zero to 100 km/h in three seconds flat, it’s a remarkable achievement since its mega 641 horsepower is put to the ground using just the rear wheels. After a couple of days in the 650S Spyder, we were smitten with this McLaren. Never mind the billionaire doors.
In celebration of McLaren’s success in the legendary Can-Am series, the company has introduced its latest special edition, the 650S Can-Am.
Based on the 650S Spyder, the Can-Am distinguishes itself with a set of unique five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in race-spec Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires, a new exhaust with four tailpipes, and vented front fenders for increased downforce.
Designed by McLaren Special Operations, the company’s bespoke division, the Can-Am is available in three colours, each with its own unique connection to McLaren’s Can-Am racing history. Mars Red matches the colour of the M1B raced by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon in 1966. Onyx Black was a colour used by McLaren privateers and Papaya Spark is a modern, metallic interpretation of the traditional McLaren Orange. Customers can option their Can-Ams with a matching, race-inspired livery.
The Can-Am is limited to fifty units globally and pricing starts at US $334,500. Learn more at McLaren’s 650S Can-Am microsite.
