The blokes from Supercar Driver managed to pull off something that a lot of people have talked about, but never done – determining which of today’s hypercars is the fastest around a circuit.

Starting with the Silverstone National circuit, using the same professional driver, BTCC’s Mat Jackson, and driving the Ferrari La Ferrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder back to back on the same day, this approach is as scientific as it gets.

Times are evidently validated by VBOX installations in each car and for equivalency, each car ran on a full tank of fuel and had been serviced a week prior to the event. Perhaps other than a minor bias – Mat Jackson was a development driver at McLaren – Supercar Driver’s test is as fair as they could make it and far more valid than Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times.

We won’t spoil the surprise. Please enjoy their video.
