If history has proven anything, it’s that when Aston Martin and Zagato collaborate great things happen. And if these preliminary images from Aston Martin are any indication, we’ll suggest that this Vanquish-based concept is a design success.

The fifth in a series of collaborations that spans five decades, this Vanquish Zagato Concept will debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como in Italy May 21 and 22, 2016.

The design of the Vanquish Zagato Concept was led by Andrea Zagato and Aston Martin’s Marek Reichmann. Both the exterior and interior were reworked and performance is said to be increased over the already impressive standard Vanquish. Like the familiar Vanquish, all of the new bodywork is made exclusively of carbon fibre and, if you look closely, you’ll see influences of DB11, Vulcan and CC-100.

We’ll let the images speak for themselves because this is a work of automotive art and no amount of blather from us will do the design justice. We hope that like the last Aston Martin 12 Vantage Zagato there will be a short production run of these exclusive grand tourers for Aston Martin and Zagato aficionados.
